WEDNESDAY MAY 18TH 2016-DAY-1-DRIVERS EDUCATION 2016-CLASS WILL MEET FOR 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES. CLASS WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM 3:30 T5:20.

Hand out State Magazine. Process all district and State Forms. Homework assignment-Students are to do the 1st three sets of mini-quizes in the State Magazine. .Assign students in a seating chard. Discuss driving rules and proceedures. ANNOUNCE PARENTS NIGHT THURSDAY OR FRIDAY NIGHT. A PARENT OR GUARDIAN WILL HAVBE TO BE PRESENT. ANNOUNCE THEY ARE TO BRING AN IDENTIFICATION OF BIRTH, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, A STATE OF MONTANA IDENTIFICATION OR A PASS-PORT-THEY WILL NEED TO BRING IDENTIFICATION FOR THEMSELVES ALSO.

May 23rd-Monday-Day 4 Class 3:30-5:20- Attendance- Parents Night-District forms-Registration-TELL permit. Driving Record- Folders-Parent Teacher agreement-Confidential health report.

Sept-21- Class  moved up to 3:00 because of PLCT.  Eye test administered. class work-studying manual for TELL TEST- Watched the next four segrements of drive. Scheduled driving times

Thursday Jan 28th-2016-Day   4-Attendance-HT-(LE) Finished up driving schedule. Eye Tests. Discussed Drive 1-Legal stop , safety stop. Tracking-Lane posistion, Right of way. Getting ready to drive. Handed out text books. Recorded numbers. Watched video-Drivers Edge Seg. 1-2-3.  Announcements-No class Monday-Attending a funeral in Vida MT.

May 24 Tuesday- Attendance-Handed out BTW Driving Manuals-Discussed Drive 1-Objectives and Learner outcomes. Video on Seat Belts- Room to live-Discussion on how important seat belts are and that they keep you in the vehicle in a roll over but also it keeps you behinfd the wheel.

Student worked on State Magazine. Quiz on reading assignment BTW-1 Pages 19-34. (Signs and Right of Way rules and proceedure for a four way stop.  Review driving schedule. Drive today Group 1 and 2

Sept 22nd-finished up scheduling drives-handed out driving booklets-discussed lesson #1 and part of lesson two. Studied for their TELL permit- Parents night had five parents-

Friday- Jan 29th-2016-Day   5-Class 1 hour. Started going over quizes in State Magazine.  Absent CM. Finish up eye test. Go over Packet 1-Worksheet 1 and 2-Discussed Drive Number 1-Getting ready to drive. Seat Adjustments-- Hand posistion  three and nine-Discussed the reasoning behind 3 three and nine hand posistion. (Maximum input and correction stean in a emegency). Discussed mirror adjustment and BGE-Blind Glare Eliminator). Talked about the drive. Legal-Stop, Safety Stop-Visual search pattern. Why we look left right left. Discussed lane posistion and talked about the five lane posistions. Discussed tracking and where to look.  Discussed the correct body settings-Heel on floor,, between gas and brake. How to pivot ones foot.

May 25th Wednesday-Attendance-Review for TELL-Did questions 51-100 THE COACHO.com. Students for homework wrote a 250 word report on Traffic Laws-

Sept 23rd-Friday-Finalized driving scheduled-review Sat. Drives-Finished up "Drive Video" Handed out two worksheets on State Magazine for test.

May 26th-Thursday- AttendanceDiscussion of BTW lesson two-Review drive one. (Controlled and uncontrolled intersection, legal stop and a safety stop. Yield sign-Stop sign-tracking and lane posistion-Tracking-five lane posistions). Sept 26th-Attendance-Corrected worksheets on studying for TELL-Went to District website to study for TELL-Went through 1st 50 questions. TLD on Drive Number 3.

May 27th-Day 8-(14.5) TELL test- 7 am to 9 am- Drive-13 Students passed the 1st time  12 Failed (2 students absent) 8 passed the second time  three did not pass the second time two were absent. (Death in Family-Auto Accident)

Introduced Drive Number 5-Highway Driving-Showed short video on other driver users-Older and Younger Drivers-TLD on understanding on other drivers. (Hevenly Debate)

Oct 12th Wednesday- TLD on Drive 5-finish up. Finish video on Distracted Driving-Show Video-on Road Rage -Discussion on cell phones and other hazards encountered by youth-Eating-Tired-Phones-Number of friends in the car. Finish up power point on Distracted driving- Hand outs on Signage and new schedule.

Oct 13th Thursday  Attendance-Teacher Led Discussion on Distracted Driving-Showed Video ECHO-Cell Phone Accident in Utah- Handed outr worksheet on Distracted Driving-Rate the sifferent types of distraction. News article on Cell Phone usage in Great Falls. Students were required to take a news article and add up fines for distracted driving and fines concerning driving.

Oct. 14th 2016 Friday Teacher led Discussion on how cars react to driver influences. Pitch-Row and Yaw. How the balance of the car is affected by the number of students in a car, speed and manuveability. Showed video from Griff Jones-Its basic Physics-

Oct 17th Monday-Teacher led discussion on Gravity and the laws of nature. Showed video from Grif Jones on Physics. Students worked on worksheet concering this video and one showed on Friday- Students tested out on Video.

Oct 18th Tuesday Attendance-Students prepared 5 questions each for the Montana Highway Patrol. Discussed worksheet on Videos-Corrected papers.

Oct 19th Wednesday Highway Patrol all period. Very well done. Showed Red Asphalt.

Oct. 24th 2016-Teacher led discussion on Drugs. Handed out drug materials-Using the program Students were required to list four interesting facts in the materials provided. TLD on how drugs affect society and how they apply to Drivers Education. Showed Drum  introduction documentary. Showed 17 PSI on they Lied. Discussed how the PSA affected them and were they effective?

May 31st-Tuesday Day 9-TELL Restest-Discussion of Drive Number three- Homework-Mr. Davis web site-Check out Harold Smith. BTW drive review. Discussion of different types of Defensive Driving Extensive TLD on Smith system, Sipde system, safe system. Homework 119-124-Read. (Parking) Did worksheets in class with Parallel Parking- Model cars-Angle parking-Perpendicular and parallel. Discussion on Front end swing-Attendance-Review driving schedule. Retook TELL.

Drivers Education Day 7 .Attendance-Absent-Zach C and K. S. (2) Teacher led discussion drive 2- Review lesson 1- Drive 2 will take place Central Ave. West. Northwest by pass, Park Garden Road. Discussion on signage. Six major classifications-Regulatory- Warning-Construction, Guide, Informational. Teacher led discussion on Right of Way. Reviewed next five video's on DRIVE. Assigned 1st three pages of homework package. Go over in class tyomorrow the 3rd. Drove 5:00-and 6:30.

Day 8-Wednesday-Attendance-All Present-Discussed Behind the wheel-Drive Number 3-Reviewed Right of Way rules-Students took many quize-How many rules did they know.  Worked on homework package- Parking Activity with cars. Discussed reference points. Discussed rules of where to park and why. Discussed rules of parking. Teacher Led Discussion on Control and Uncontrolled intersections.  Homework-Sign activity with parents. Instrument cluster.

June 2nd-Thursday Day 11-Discussion on Adverse conditions-Video-Win the Winter Game-A Sudden change of Plans-Danger Signs- (A sudden....-Distracted driving intro)

Day 9-Thursday-2-4-16 Pick up homework on Signs with parent-activity-Correct-Instrument cluster. Go over all the quizes in the magazine. Attendance all present. Drove 5:00 and 6:30. Went over Getting Ready to drive. Signed applications in front of Mr. Davis. Set up final driving Schedule.

June 3rd Friday Day 12-Teacher led discussion on the systems of defensive driving. Showed Power point on The Smith System-For homework students were requreed to discuss their best system or system they liked the best. Smith-Sipde-Safe- Picked up assignment in classs. Discussed the seven Basic Accidents-  on Power Point and finsshed up with discussion on BAC.

 

 

Feb. 5th 2016-FRIDAY-Day 10-Teacher Led discussion. BTW drive number 4-Lane changes and one-ways. Discussed why we do lane changes and why we do not. Discussed SMOG-Explained SMOG. Objectives and Learner outcomes. Attendance. Absent Z C. W T. Showed Stae curriculium on Seat Belts.

Monday Day 11-Feb. 8th Hand out Student Evualations of Teacher. Attendance Absent-Sat- K O and J O-show. Group 7:00 No Show. WT-Absent Friday-No Show. Module 2 Managing Time and Space-Exercise Activity 1 and 2-Identifying FIND-SOLVE and CONTROL- Groups of three TLD on Gap selection. .  No absenses.

June 6th Monday-Day 13-TLD-Drive 6 and 7-Highway Transportation System in Montana-Routes with a zero  run East and West-Those with a odd number running North and South-Modeled after system in Germany. Montana two Interstates meet in Rocker Montana. Second part of Discussion on Distracted Driving Discussed -Types-Visual-Manual and Connative-Showed video-Deafeating Distracted Driving. Key Points-Adjustments before driving-Know your route-Eat healthy-Do not eat while traveling-TURN OFF CELL PHONES--NEVER TEXT or E-MAIL while driving.

Tuesday Feb 9th-Absent Je and Ke-Mb- Discussion of smith System-Video Produced by DE. Discussed BAC and what .02 means. Discussed the five types of accidents. TLD on developing save driving system. Showed video on Semi Conscious-Blind Spots-Students were asked to pick one they liked. Smith, Fred Mattola-ABC of Zone Control. Sipde-Ipde, See and Scan.  Student went through several slides determing wheather or not it was an open zone, closed zone or unstable. Showed video produced in 1948 on the SMITH System.

June 7th-Tuesday-Day 14-Class 1:30 minutes- Handed back all work and discussed students who did not turn in homework they would be failing class-Sent home lett5ers to students who are failing class-They were to be signed and returned. Several students did not return the letters. June 13th-Last day for accepted make-up work will be Monday the 13th.

Wednesday 2-10-16 Day 13. Absent KO- Discussed Highway Drive 5. Discussed Learner outcomes and Objectives of lesson. Reviewed Lesson 1-4. Review. Students worked on Packet. Went over answeres  Pages 3-4-5. Assigned pages 4-5-6-7. Homework-RTead BTW Lesson 1-5. Test on Thursday.  Studed for TELL on Friday.

June 8th-Wednesday-Day 15-Class time 1:30 minutes-Discussion-PP on Distracted driving- Three major area of concern-Tired Driving-Hand held devices and Drugs and alcohol. Video-Dying to get there-The real costs of Reckless Driving-21 minutes-.

Thursday 2-11-16-Day 14- Reviewed for TELL Did online studied 51-100. Review Schedule for Saturday  and Monday. Attendance-All present.  Gave students printed handout. Picked up packets 1-4. Dicussed contract assignment. Absent H.

June 9th Thursday-Day 16-Last Day of regular school year. Class was one hour. Teacher Led discussion on Interstate Drive six and seven. Watched video on snow plows and workman safety in construction sights. Discussed Learner outcomes and Lesson Objectives.

Friday-2-12-16-Absent-LB-ZH-W. Students took TELL test. 11 students failed. Most missed 15-Least 1. No perfect scores. Revied drerives for Sat. and Monday. Rechecked applications.

June 10th-Friday-Day 17-Handed back all assignments-Notified the students missing work that June 13 Monday is the last day to turn in all amake up work- Addressed envelopes for Students to have mailed home. Placed in envelope Confidential Health report-Driving Test State-Did not have District test will see Lisa on Monday. Class stated at 8:30 until 10:00 Drive at 10:30.

June 14th Tuesday-Picked up homework-Thank-You for Mrs Pepos for coming to class to talk to students. Discussed drive 6 and 7-Intyerstate and Interstae on/off-Learner outcomes and objectives.

Wednesday 2-17-Tested those students who failed TELL-11. Six students failed again. Inportant reminder-STUDENTS HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT RIGHT AWAY TO GET RETESTED.LIST IS AT DMV. NO TELL-NO DRIVING FINAL.  aLL STUDENTS PRESENT. Class reviewed Drive number 6-7. Interstate On/Off

June 15th Wednesday-TLD on seatbealts-The three "E" Education, Engineering and Enforcement. Very good class participation. 30 minutes. Video on Road Rage. What causes "road-rage" and how can we not become victims of it.  Discussed an assignment and handed out syllnus on a Parent-Student Agreement or Contract. Discussed the importance of working with their parents. Due Wednesday the  22nd of June.

Discussed Adverse driving conditions-Told students to go back and review reading assignments for test on BTW 1-6. Showed DVD on Snow Plow, Signs and Highway safety. Showed DVD on Salt Lake Accident-Texting while driving-Students worked on Packet two-assignment 1.

 

June 16 th-Thursday-Discussion on tires and how to read tire information and how to find  on the tires and in the car. Students went outside and did worksheet. Worked in groups of two. Students stayed on task and was very productive. Homework students did a worksheet on what to do if they have a wheel drop off the side of the road.

 

Thursday-2-18-16-Announcements -Testing- TLD-Powerpoint on 3.1-Vision. Student participation.  1-2-3.  Hand out driving schedule for student review. Review driving times tonight-Friday announce a lot of people in town for tournaments-be careful-Last scheduled driving times March 21 Absent K), K B, BB, and TJ.  Discussed the importance of vision. The students took the chapter test on Alcohol.


June 17th Friday Scheduled Montana Highway Patrol-No Show Lecture on Tires, finish up. Introduced "fact-sheet" on Cornoring and hills. Also discussed what to do in a "Tire Blowout" Teacher led discussion on Washboards. Revied schedule Friday and Saturday.

Friday 2-19-Attendance-Hand out driving schedule review the importance of their drives.  TLD on the interstate system and Drive 6-7. Route Great Falls to Cascade or Great Falls to Gordon Montana. Go over answeres to distances. Assign next 3 assignments in packet. Review Contract assignment.  Absent Bb-K after wed. Missed thur. Fri.

 

Monday-2-22-16 All present- Review drives-Interstate, Interstate on/off-Rural Driving and Highway driving-Started unit on The laws of Gravity as it applies to driving. Handout on Griff Jones-Showed Video on Its all about Physics. Worked on Handout during film. Talked about Hills and gravity-Discussed Timing at intersections. Worked on Packett- Contracts due Monday

Monday  2-1-16 -Announcements-Students who did not miss any class, did not get caught with cell phones in class-did not miss any scheduled drives. There last day of class is Tuesday-Absent-HK  Picked up their contracts and their homework packets.
 
Tuesday 3-1-16-Class 1 hour-Reviewed the schedule-Schedule up-dates-Disscussed the importance of showing up for driving-read information on back of schedule.  Driving  4:30 until 7:30. If students did not miss any class time, did not miss a scheduled drive, did not get in troulle during class, hallway, passed their TELL and did not have to take their retest. Did not get caught using their cell-phones in class. Showed video-"Disarming Montana's biggest Killer". Dismissed class.
 
Wednesday 3-2-16- Picked up all homework-Picked up books-Missing books-S H, N A,  HK, . Students who have class on Wed. Chapter test for each day missed. Last day to pick up contracts. Class today 2:45 to 5:45.  Absent-NA-SH
Students who missed a day, missed scheduled drives, or caught using cell phones did three chapter tests.
